Goddess Series: Luna the Moon Goddess

Introducing the next in line for the Goddess Series, we have the Moon Goddess Luna. In our shop we have an art print designed by our co-founder artist Tony Laidig and this one stands as his personal favorite!

The Moon is often viewed as a symbol of divine femininity because of its enchanting mystique. The dim light that it emits in the dead of night can sometimes make your mind run in circles, captivating the imagination. She represents the cyclical nature of life through her phases and bridges the way between the darkness and the light. She helps guide us through her phases, waxing and waning, which happens throughout the month. She serves as a reminder of the cycles we will all go through, in life, death, and rebirth. This Goddess also serves as the divine complement to the sun, mirroring the bright beauty as Luna illuminates the dark skies and casts her ethereal glow upon all that is below.

Of course this Goddesses grace extends to much more than just the celestial realm, as she associates herself with women, childbirth, and magic. As you may have gathered, this Moon Goddess is closely connected to the female essence. Historically, the Ancient cultures would invoke her presence during childbirth to protect and guide women during that difficult time. Luna is a being that also encourages us to explore our intuition and embrace transformation. She was seen as a protector of the night by providing light to guide people's way.

One of the most well known myths that involve Luna is the story of Luna and Endymion. The Moon Goddess had fallen deeply in love with the mortal Endymion. This led to Luna having him put into a deep sleep to make him immortal. The manner of how this happened varies depending on the retelling. She would then come down at night and passionately shower him with love.

In modern spirituality, it is common to use the Moon's energy to super cleanse and charge crystals, make moon water, manifest, and perform spells and rituals.

Invite the energies of this ethereal Moon Goddess into your space and let her guide you through the cyclical nature of life, self reflection, and awaken the magic within you!
