Blue Agate [Dyed]

Are you lacking stability in your life? Is life constantly stressing you out and you can't seem to calm down? Or maybe you need some gentle strength to aid you in facing life's challenges? If so, Blue Agate is the perfect stone for you!

The throat chakra, or the Vishuddha is very in tune with Blue Agate. This chakra is known for helping people speak their truth and improve their communication.

Pisces is the zodiac sign that’s most commonly associated with Blue Agate. This is the twelfth astrological sign represented by two fish and is known to have heightened creativity, intuition, and empathy.

Blue Agate is also very connected to the element of water. This element is commonly associated with cleansing and healing energy.

The planet most associated with Blue Agate is Earth. This is most likely because of how Agates tend to have grounding properties which make them very Earth based.

The crystals that pair well with Blue Agates are Aquamarine, Chrysocolla, and Lapis Lazuli. Aquamarine is known for its properties of happiness, hope, and serenity. Chrysocolla is known for its tranquility, peace, intuition, and love. Finally, Lapis Lazuli is known for its strength, courage, and knowledge.

As you can probably guess from the name, Blue Agate is in fact blue. However it is important to realize these Agates are dyed, which explains the very bright and vibrant coloration. This doesn’t mean that they are fake 100%, it only means that the coloring is, but it is still something to be aware of as a consumer.

Agates tends to have an opaque or translucent visibility. This varies depending on the impurities of the stone. The more impure the stone, the less translucent it gets.

Agate generally has a Mohs Hardness Score of 7. This makes Blue Agate a relatively durable stone and an excellent choice for jewelry. The chemical formula for Agate is SiO2. Another name for this is silicon dioxide. It is also a chalcedony, which is a cryptocrystalline silica, oftentimes this type of silica has quartz and morganite inclusions scattered throughout. This stone is also known to belong to the trigonal crystal system.

Agate has its origins from all over the world, which again, can be traced back to how many varieties of Agate exist and how they are so versatile. This stays true for Blue Agate because despite the blue not being naturally occurring, it is still real Agate that has been mined from one of its locations all over the world!
